An odd stone. Her name is Blacktop.
When I first saw Blacktop's stone I couldn't stop looking at it, it was a little odd. I think it was a pear at one time. The facets in the middle are in the shape of a pear. The top of the stone has a raw edge where it seems like the pear's head chipped off and changed the shape of the stone, it's not so noticeable with the naked eye but I knew I had to have it. Blacktop's stone is a medium grey color, it sometimes looks lighter or darker depending on the light. The first photo was taken with bright lights and the last photo was taken inside with natural sunlight. There are some super tiny markings on the stone's surface which are not easy to see. I made her setting out of a clay like wax to give her an earthy feel. Her natural rose cut diamond is 7.1mm tall and 6.2mm wide, weighs 1.13cts. and her band is about 1.5 - 1.6mm wide. I cast Blacktop in 18k gold and gave her a shiny finish. She is made as a stacking ring.

I made a rustic little wooden box for her.
